FAQ

Shop opening times

We open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am-5pm. We close on Bank Holidays.
For more information regarding Easter, Christmas and New Year opening please check the News section of the website nearer the time.

I can't find what I'm looking for on the website

We have so many products, we cannot possibly show them all on the website however, if you would like to telephone or e-mail us with your requirements, we will happily send them to you and if it is not a stock item, we will endeavour to get it for you.

Do you run workshops and classes for beginners?

All of our classes are suitable for beginners unless otherwise stated. If you are unsure, please contact us for more information.

What do I need to bring with me to a workshop?

We have a well equipped classroom with enough Pfaff sewing machines for everyone to use however, if you prefer to use your own machine, please feel free to bring it along.
For patchwork, quilting, bag making and toy making classes you need rotary cutting equipment including rulers and cutters, a basic sewing kit including pins, needles, scissors etc., threads and fabric markers.
For Pfaff embroidery and software classes you will need your embroidery machines and laptop computers plus the relevant class requirements. For papercraft classes you need scissors and marking equipment, plus double sided tape and tweezers. It is always worth telephoning before a class if you are unsure of what to bring.

Why do I have to buy my fabrics from Quorn Country Crafts to use on your workshops?

We try to keep the cost of our workshops and courses as affordable as possible and to enable us to do this we have to insist that fabrics are purchased from us; this then goes towards covering the tuition costs and running expenses. The alternative is for us to have a 'two tier' workshop fee with a higher price charged to people who buy their materials elsewhere, and we are trying to avoid this. An easy way to illustrate this is if you purchased a sandwich from a supermarket, you would not expect to be able to take a seat in a restaurant and eat your lunch! If you have any queries regarding this, please contact us before booking a workshop to avoid any embarrassment.
We do offer 10% discount on all fabrics etc. bought for our courses and when you attend a workshop you will receive 10% off all purchases* made in the shop on that day, whether related to the class or not.

If I order something from the website, when can I expect to receive it?

We aim to process orders received by 2pm on the same working day. If there is an unavoidable delay or the item is out of stock, we will contact you directly.
Parcels are sent by First Class Post/ Parcel Post depending on size and larger items are sent by Carrier and are trackable.
If you are ordering from outside the UK, please contact us for delivery times and charges.

How do I pay?

You can pay by credit or debit card secure in the knowledge that we use Paypal Secure Payments System. No details are stored by us. If however you prefer to talk to us and deal with your order over the telephone, we are happy to do so. You can also pay by cheque but no goods can leave until the cheque has cleared.

If you are emailing about an order or have a specific enquiry then it is very helpful to us if you include your name, telephone and postcode and an order number if you have one.
Please note for general enquiries we aim to respond to your email within 2 to 3 working days.

Making A Purchase

The official Contract between us comes into existence when we select our goods from the shelves for you. We have the right to cancel any order giving the customer a full refund. We fulfil orders on a "first come first served" basis. As we also have a retail outlet, very occasionally a product may show as in stock online, when in fact it could be out of stock. If you have any queries regarding stock levels please don't hesitate to contact the shop via email or telephone prior to making your order.

All Prices are shown in Pounds Sterling (inclusive of VAT). Just browse our website and click on any items that you wish to buy to put them into the shopping basket. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

When we have received your order we will send you an email acknowledging receipt We accept the following credit/debit cards - VISA, Mastercard, Delta, or Electron. If you are shopping from anywhere other than the UK your credit card company should convert the transaction to your own currency at the prevailing rate at the time of the transaction.

Postage and Packing

We aim to process orders received before 2pm the same working day. All orders are sent by First Class Post/Parcel Post depending on size.
For large items sent by carrier we do use a trackable service Postage and packing charges within the UK are shown below. If you require an item to be sent by recorded delivery, please contact us for details of the cost.

Overseas Orders.
Postage charges to Overseas destinations will depend upon the weight and volume of the items ordered and the country to which they are delivered. Please contact us for details of the cost.

Quorn Country Crafts reserves the right to notify you if postage to your chosen destination is significantly higher than the postage rate indicated due to the destination or the bulk and/or weight of the item being shipped. If this is the case we will email you with information about the amended rate and will only proceed with the order when you confirm that the amended amount is acceptable.

If you give us an incorrect delivery address and a parcel is returned to us or undelivered because of that incorrect address we reserve the right to charge additional postage to cover the re-sending of your parcel to the correct address.

Back Orders

If your item is not in stock, we will back order it for you. We will always contact you with an expected delivery date and you have the option to cancel your backorder if you would rather not wait.

Credit Card Security

For your security we are using Paypal Secure Payments and no card details are stored by ourselves.

Privacy Policy

Quorn Country Crafts does not disclose buyers' information to third parties.

Returns Policy

If you are unhappy with your purchase you can return an item to us. Within the European Union, customers have the right to withdraw from the purchase of an item within seven working days beginning the day after the date that the item is delivered. It must be in its original condition withal packaging intact and returned to us at our address shown above. Please call us or email us for a Returns Number. We recommend that you receive a proof of posting or send it by recorded delivery. We cannot accept returns of computer software that has been opened, fabric cut to your specific requirements, We will issue a full refund less any discount applied to the item. Please note that you will be responsible for the costs of returning the items to us unless we delivered the item to you in error, or if the item is damaged or defective and therefore postage and packaging charges are not refundable. If we have to collect an item for you we reserve the right to recover the costs of collection from you. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Damaged, defective or incorrect items
Please call or email us if you have a problem with an item that is damaged or defective. We will give you a Returns Number and discuss arrangements for rectifying the problem. We will refund the delivery charges incurred in returning the item to us. We check all items returned to us and if we cannot find a fault, we reserve the right to re-charge you for the item(s) and to recover any costs incurred in recovering it from you.
