Newsletter
We produce a comprehensive Newsletter, 'All Stitched Up', to coincide with each new programme of workshops, issued three times a year which tells you about up and coming events, sale days, special offers etc,. and also a monthly newsletter which hopefully will ensure that no-one will miss out on any new products etc. We appreciate just how annoying it is to hear about them when they are sold out! The monthly newsletter is available in the shop and on the website, on or around the first day of each month.

AS ALWAYS, REG'S RENDITIONS | Returning last week from a few days in the sun, we have really felt the cold...and have caught one. Obviously mine is a very bad cold, if not flu of the mansize variety!
Talking to people in the shop it seems that lots of you have been caught out by viruses over the Christmas period. Maybe we will consider having the flu jab next year.....?
After a very busy run up to Christmas, we still have a few empty shelves as our suppliers are also very busy and as the majority closed for two weeks, they are now playing 'catch up'. It is mainly knitting yarns that we are still waiting for however, we are promised that the deliveries will all be in by the middle of next week (18th January at the latest), and I would like to thank you for your patience. It is frustrating if you are trying to get on with a project. We did have a very large delivery before Christmas but were surprised by just how busy we were between Christmas and New Year.
Next Year we will try to get it right!
On a more positive note, the new Spring yarns will be arriving in February and you can begin to plan your knitting for the fine weather - hard to imagine at the moment.
Finally, congratulations to our Grand Daughter, Becky, and Alan who will be adding to our clan by having our Great Grandchild in June. She has cut down her hours slightly but will be working for some time yet, thank goodness! |
END OF AN ERA | 2012 has seen the demise of our Tuesday evening drop-in group at the shop. This has been a tough decision as we have been meeting for many, many years however, numbers have fallen, parking in the evening is a problem in Loughborough and we completely understand that many ladies do not wish to walk back to a car park in the dark. For some time now we have repeatedly been asked if we would start a big patchwork and quilting group that would meet in the evening. Our workroom is not large enough, car parking is far from ideal if there are so many cars, so we have decided to hire more suitable premises in the village of Old Woodhouse, initially, once a fortnight with the opportunity to increase this to once a week if that becomes desirable.
This group, QCCQuilters, began on January 10th 2012 and got off to an enthusiastic start.
It was with mixed feelings that our evenings have changed. Thank you to all the Tuesday Night Ladies for your support over the years and if Patchwork and Quilting is your passion, please let us know if you would be interested in joining this new group.
Please keep in touch. |

WHAT TO BRING TO A WORKSHOP | For most classes, it is helpful if you bring with you pins, scissors, needles, thread, a tape measure, pencil and paper.
It is always worth contacting the shop prior to a class for details of anything specific that you may need.
If you can spare the time a week or so before a class, please call in and spend some time choosing your materials. That way, you can browse and take your time without feeling rushed before a class is about to start.
You will of course, still receive the 10% discount offered for anything bought for a workshop. |
WINTER WOOLIES | We have just unpacked new ranges of Aran, Chunky and Big Bamboo yarns from Sirdar and the patterns to go with them are lovely....Leg Warmers and Ponchos seem to be very popular. |
WORKSHOP PROGRAMME for after Easter 2012 | This will be available from Saturday 25th February. Full details will be available at the shop and on the website from that date.
If you want to be sure of receiving this information as soon as it is available, please register your name and e-mail address on this website.
You can also choose to be informed of any special offers, sale days, events etc., and we can easily keep you up to date with what is happening at the shop. |
WORKSHOPS, WINTER & DARK NIGHTS | We have decided that up until Easter, we will have less evening classes for several reasons, but mainly, the weather, as it is not always pleasant turning out when it is cold and dark and returning to your cars is also a problem.
These classes and courses will be re-introduced in April when the clocks are altered and the lighter nights return...difficult to imagine when it is pitch black at four o'clock. |
